Selling the Invisible |
Written by Harry Beckwith
This is required reading for any service based company executives and marketing personnel. Beckwith describes the fundamental difference between selling services and tangible products. He points out that people buying services are looking for specialized knowledge and expertise that they do not possess at that moment in time. When I read this book, I took over five pages of notes. Everything he puts into this book has merit and explains what must be done to market services today. Remember, services are somewhat of an unknown to the customer and therefore a relationship must be developed due to the negative consequences of a poor decision by the customer. It is the service providers' responsibility to show competency, experience, and expertise in several ways to gain the attention and trust of the customer. Great book! |
